Who does what: Customs filings are made by licensed customs brokers in Mexico and the U.S. Mexico Connect prepares documents, coordinates both sides and keeps you updated. Mexico Connect does not file customs entries itself.
How it works

- Pedimento on the Mexican sideThe agente aduanal files the export pedimento. The load goes through the semáforo fiscal in Nuevo Laredo.
- Entry filed with CBPThe U.S. broker files the entry, ideally before the truck reaches the booth, so release is faster.
- Release and next legOnce CBP releases the load, it moves to a Laredo warehouse or straight onto a U.S. carrier.
Questions
Do I need a customs broker on both sides?
Usually, yes. A Mexican export needs a pedimento filed by a licensed agente aduanal, and the U.S. import needs an entry filed by a licensed U.S. customs broker or by the importer of record. We coordinate both.
What documents do I need to import from Mexico?
At minimum a commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading. Depending on the product you may also need a USMCA certification of origin, FDA, USDA or EPA information, or other agency documents. We tell you what applies before the load ships.
Can you tell me the duty before I ship?
